A Dangerous prayer to pray ‘Lord change me’

This last summer Ava our five year old learnt how to swim. It was fascinating to watch. She was about three when she started paddling around the pool with floaties. She really enjoyed it. However, unlike her older sisters she had yet to experience the joy of going under the water. She was yet to enjoy the freedom of being able to glide through the water uninhibited.

However, this summer she changed. After months and months of encouraging her to take off her floaties and put her head underwater she finally did it. Now it was risky and at first it was scary. But eventually she gained confidence and after a little while you could not keep her out of the water.

You see change is risky. Change is scary. It means leaving behind the safety of the shallow end and stepping out into deep water. But I guess the thing that makes it all worth it is that in the end you get to enjoy being able to swim.

So isn’t time you took off your spiritual floaties and asked God to change you? If you are ready to swim we will be starting our change series on Sunday morning 9.00 and 10.45. Romans five is amazing as it shows us where we can gain the confidence from that we can change.
